The agreement was inked by Tawfiq Fakhouri, Founder and Executive Chairman of Al Eqbal Real Estate Development, and Engineer Imad Fakhoury, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for King Abdulah II Fund for Development, during a private ceremony attended by executive team members from both companies.
The agreement aims at providing the culinary industry in Jordan and the region with trained and qualified employees. Al Eqbal will support students to enroll and complete their studies at the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, and will give graduates of the Academy the priority for training and employment in the company’s projects.
Tawfik Fakhoury expressed his pride in this new partnership which reflects the private sector's cooperation and support for the Royal visions through funding 100 students over the next four years with an average of 25 students per year. Al Eqbal is the owner and developer of the Ritz-Carlton project in Amman, which is expected to add 530 job opportunities for the young Jordanians when it opens in 2020.
The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts a non-profit private Jordanian associate university college. The institution offers a two-year culinary diploma which is accredited in both Jordan and Switzerland through Les Roches International School of Hotel Management by NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges)[1] and its commission on higher education as a teach-out campus. The college teaches students who have successfully completed a full secondary school program. The institute is seeking to change the mindset of the community to learn non-traditional occupations which contributes to improving the standard of living, in addition to raising the level of vocational training through a career linked to the tourism sector.
